APPLICATIO was commissioned by sequa gGmbH to conduct an evaluation of the second phase of the special project "German-Turkish Partnership for Vocational Qualification" (TAMEB). sequa is a beneficiary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project supports Turkey in alleviating the consequences of the refugee crisis. In the second phase, activities will be carried out in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir.
Essentially, the project is about providing vocational qualifications to refugees and vulnerable Turkish groups in order to improve their living conditions. sequa works closely with institutions in the German private sector that have strong competencies in the field of vocational training. In close cooperation with Turkish institutions, each German partner organises vocational training measures tailored to the target group in different sectors (1st project phase: construction, gastronomy, handicrafts/textiles, information technology. 2nd project phase: construction, gastronomy, textiles, building cleaning). These vocational training measures are supplemented by upstream Turkish language and social integration courses. In addition, the programme participants are supported by job coaches to facilitate their integration into the labour market.
