APPLICATIO was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), respectively its project "Support of Regional Economic Cooperation in Asia" (SRECA) with the planning and implementation of four stakeholder workshops in Mongolia. The aim of the workshops is to coordinate the activities of the GTI partners in Mongolia even better and to strengthen the partners in their work with and for GTI.
The Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) is an intergovernmental cooperation mechanism between the PR China, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, which focuses mainly on the implementation of soft projects and the exchange of knowledge. The GTI secretariat is the main executing agency.
The project "Support for Regional Economic Cooperation in Asia" (SRECA), which is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, works with Cambodia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mongolia, the PR China and Vietnam within the framework of subregional cooperation mechanisms such as the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) in Northeast Asia or the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) in Southeast Asia.
The aim of the project is to improve the conditions for regional and global trade in selected priority countries - Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in the framework of ACFTA and Mongolia in the
framework of the JTI - with the PRC to ensure that the interests of the countries are included on an equal footing in regional and global integration processes. Particular attention will be paid to agricultural products.
