APPLICATIO has been contracted by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to manage a pool of experts for the global project "Sport for Development". The experts will support GIZ in its project mainly in Central Asia and the MENA region in various activities (workshops, consultations, coaching).
As a value-based approach to German international cooperation, Sport for Development (S4D) promotes a collective response to global challenges. Under the guidance of trained educators, sport can bridge social divides, unite people from different social, geographic and economic backgrounds, drive social change and make societies more stable.
In doing so, S4D makes an important contribution to mitigating various crisis scenarios such as displacement (e.g. from Afghanistan, Ukraine) u while strengthening social cohesion. These crises disproportionately impact (young) women and youth, who are therefore directly addressed u and empowered. Moreover, S4D is particularly effective in the context of peacebuilding and social cohesion, especially in the case of displacement and migration, which will become increasingly important as part of the global transformation agenda.
