On 18 November 2025, APPLICATIO co-signed the ‘Code of Conduct for Democratic AI’ and thereby committed itself to complying with the principles of this Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct was developed in a process involving more than 50 civil society organisations and provides guidance for the transparent and participatory use of AI. The project is being implemented by D64 – Centre for Digital Progress and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Women, Seniors and Youth. The Code of Conduct helps to identify potential, minimise risks and develop clear criteria for or against the use of AI. It also enables organisations to formulate an informed position on AI and integrate ethical principles into their work with AI.
More than 50 civil society organisations have jointly developed the Code of Conduct for Democratic AI for the responsible use of AI in civil society. It provides guidance for the informed and reflective use of AI, strengthens a common position, builds trust with funders and partners, and gives employees and activists a clear framework for dealing with AI.
From 19 November 2025, APPLICATIO will, among other things, mark image material generated by AI accordingly and indicate when texts have been created with AI support.
